Job Description
Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado’s largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant in Colorado Springs.

This is a PRN (as needed) position with no benefits but it does offer the opportunity to get your foot in the door with a great organization.
 
The successful candidate will:
  •  Escort patient to and from exam room, physician office, and treatment room
  • Record patient data prior to each physician visit
  • Obtain all necessary patient records as required by the physician and verify presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures
  • Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms
  • Assist physician with exams and procedures as requested
  • Obtain blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections
  • Process instruments and equipment as needed
  • Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physician
  • Obtain new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent. Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical
Assistants preferred. Minimum two years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant.
Phlebotomy experience preferred. Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire. Certified
Medical Assistant preferred.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to

including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires
standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40
lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
