Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a Payment Specialist I in Greenwood Village, CO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, is responsible for processing and posting incoming payments, reconciling receipts and adjusting patient accounts.
Prepares money for deposit and audits accounts receivables reports to ensure accurate balance.
Follows standard procedures and pre-established guidelines to complete tasks.
Processes and posts patient and payer payments accurately and timely in accordance to company policies and the Practice’s standard operation procedures (SOP’s).
Daily, reconciles cash receipts and petty cash funds to accounts receivables balance, explanation of benefits (EOB), and electronic remittance advices (ERA) and deposits cash to the bank,
Identifies payment variances and documents patient account as appropriate.
Updates patient and payer account balances. Generates and mail patient account statements.
Researches and responds to routine account inquiries and takes appropriate action according to SOPs; escalates no-routine issues.
Maintains the strictest confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and state/federal regulations
Other duties as requested or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent
Minimum three (3) years experience in a Medical Business Office setting and balancing responsibility preferred.
Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and 10-key required
