Responsibilities:

  • Live by the "Golden Rule" and work with other associates to build a strong team atmosphere
  • Oversee food preparation
  • Prepare food per production standards
  • Arrange and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Safe utilization of utensils including knives
  • Adhere to food safety, food handling, and sanitation procedures
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive attitude
  • Work with a diverse work population

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, based on the business needs of your location
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • 1-3 years of cooking/kitchen experience preferred
  • Intermediate computer reporting experience preferred

Experience:

  • Food preparation experience including: Measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling
  • Using and cleaning equipment and materials for food preparation and cleanup
  • Ability to follow direction regarding food preparation, storage and safety

Physical Requirements:

Requires standing, walking & bending, as well as occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.

The Lead Cook is responsible for overseeing and participating in the preparation of food items in accordance with recipes and standards while maintaining a neat, clean and safe work environment. Duties of this position include handling and preparing food in accordance with sanitary regulations, controlling food and inventory costs and assistance in supervising of shift operations. The ideal candidate must be able to handle multiple priorities and have excellent leadership and communication skills. Preference may be given to candidates who possess an advanced degree in culinary arts or related field. This position requires standing, walking, and bending throughout the entire work day and the ability to lift, stack and maneuver objects that may weigh 30 to 50 pounds. Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.
