Medical Lab Tech (MLT)

Job Description
Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado’s largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a MLT in Pueblo.
The successful candidate will:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate's degree in medical technology and minimum of three years experience as a MLT.
All candidates are required to pass a drug screening and background check prior to hire.

The successful candidate will:
- Assist with performing phlebotomy and collecting appropriate specimens
- Follow lab procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient results
- Send specimen to reference laboratories for any testing not performed in house
- Perform specimen analysis of all Chemistry, Hematology and Immunology specimens
- Maintain and operate all lab equipment
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly instrument maintenance as indicated
- Adhere to laboratory quality control policies and document all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and instrument maintenance
- Prepare peripheral blood smear and perform complete WBC differential
- Perform microscopic examination of urinary sediment
- Record results on appropriate worksheet and computer system and perform file maintenance
- Adhere to all OSHA compliance laws and Universal Precautions procedures
