Job Summary
You will be responsible for providing Civil Infrastructure Solutions product support, system testing, and training to resellers and end customers globally, with a focus on the Americas region. Products or systems you will support include but not limited to: Grading/paving/excavator/compactor control systems (Trimble Earthworks, RoadWorks, GCS/PCS 900), along with supporting office and field software and related site positioning hardware. Additional responsibilities include interfacing with engineering for the purpose of testing and evaluating new products. (travel requirements up to 25%).
The ideal candidate for this role will be expected to be a domain expert, seen as subject matter expert on cases worked within the given skill set, and be able to provide guidance to peers. On occasion the Technical Support Engineer will be called upon to lead product meetings where they will share support analytics to our internal customers including product issues, enhancements, support performance, and customer satisfaction with the goal of driving swift customer resolutions.
What You'll Do
Success in this position will see you providing timely technical support, reducing downtime and increasing customer satisfaction with our products. On a daily basis this will include:
Provide fast and efficient technical support in assigned areas across Trimble's Civil Infrastructure Solutions sector.
Capable of walking customers through troubleshooting, workflows, and training using phone, email, or remote access tools
Generates technical documentation and videos suitable for internal and external use.
Provide new product input, field-testing, and subsequent production release involvement.
Other duties as assigned.
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
You'll require proficiency in troubleshooting, analytical skills, and identifying workflow defects. The ability to communicate complex ideas to an audience with varied technical backgrounds is required.
In depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy civil machinery equipment.
Considerable experience with grade control systems.
Knowledge of GNSS, UTS, and Laser guidance solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Works independently, receives guidance in only the most complex situations.
Proven ability to achieve results.
5 years field experience working with grade control systems.
Heavy equipment operation experience is a plus. (Excavator, bulldozer, motor grader, paver)
Spanish writing and speaking are a plus.
