The Adams County Parks, Open Space & Cultural Arts Department (POSCA) is looking for a dynamic individual to join our team and actively participate in bringing to life our Department's purpose statement to "Significantly enhance quality of life, enrich communities & INSPIRE!" If selected, you will actively perform a variety of professional and technical duties related to the acquisition, development, and stewardship of land for parks, open space, and trails. This includes but is not limited to the planning, design and construction of various capital projects and other infrastructure improvements within the County's parks, trails, and open space system.You will be tasked with performing a variety of professional duties and responsibilities related to project coordination and management within the Planning, Design and Construction Division while maintaining a global perspective on customer service when coordinating with residents, stakeholders, county representatives, and outside agencies. You will be expected to coordinate highly responsible and complex professional support reporting to POSCA's Manager of Planning, Design and Construction. Experience:
Three (3) years of practical experience in the administration, coordination and management of park planning initiatives and improvement projects. (with an appropriate certification/license) OR four (4) years of practical experience (without an appropriate certification/license)
Education and Training:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in landscape architecture, architecture, civil engineering, land or urban planning, natural resource management, construction management, ecology, biology, public administration or a directly related field is required.
Master's Degree is preferred, but not required.
License or Certificate:
Prefer professional license or certification in field of education and training listed above; however, it is not required. Candidate should be actively working towards licensure.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.
Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check.
Other: Ability to work in a standard office or hybrid environment including remote working and be able attend project field visits in remote working conditions. Job duties and expectations allow for onsite and remote work scheduled every week. Employees in this classification are regularly scheduled onsite three (3) to four (4) days per week based on the County's needs and as determined by Department Director with remaining days scheduled remotely.
