Join the dynamic R&D team at Kraft Heinz as a Senior Packaging Scientist. In this critical innovation role, you'll lead high-impact projects that enhance packaging design across renowned brands like Kraft, Heinz, and Primal Kitchen.

What's on the menu?
  • Lead end-to-end packaging innovation projects, from identifying consumer and brand needs, ideating new concepts, prototyping, testing, and driving solutions to commercial launch.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, marketing, operations, procurement and external partners to develop comprehensive packaging sustainability strategies that meet business objectives.
  • Research, evaluate and recommend innovative, eco-friendly packaging technologies and materials that enhance product protection, performance and consumer experience while minimizing environmental impact.
  • Conduct consumer tests, performance benchmarks, and lifecycle assessments to validate the viability of potential packaging solutions for quality, safety, sustainability and branding.
  • Champion packaging sustainability by staying at the forefront of emerging technologies, materials, regulations and consumer trends to incorporate ground breaking solutions into project development and strategic planning.
  • Build processes and systems to effectively lead packaging projects from idea generation through execution, ensuring timely, on-budget, and on-brand delivery of packaging innovations.
  • Lead multiple assignments/research projects concurrently and possess the ability to prioritize between a variety of business initiatives.

  • BS/MS in Packaging, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience in Packaging Development and commercialization (which can include internships)
  • Strong understanding of key subject matter in areas such as packaging materials, pkg equipment/materials interaction, and packaging laboratory test methods
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach and motivate others.
  • Handle multiple assignments/tasks concurrently with ability to prioritize work
  • Willingness to travel 30%
