Viasat is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support our RF Environment Generation (RFEG) engineering projects at Viasat. Viasat's RFEG engineers are a rapidly expanding group that specialize in cutting edge technologies. As a Systems Engineer, you will have the responsibility to support the entire engineering project lifecycle from inception to delivery.

Together with the team, you will support multiple programs within the RFEG business area for system requirements and down-flows. You will be responsible for the Customer Requirements analysis and defining required real-time embedded processing, digital and RF architectures, digital signal processing and signal generation functionalities, and interfaces (digital, electrical, RF, software etc.) and help to drive and facilitate discussions with subcontractors/partners as needed.

As systems engineer, you will assist with signal processing and generation requirements analysis including simulations and design choices with supporting verification and validation activities. You will also assist with program management and Bid and Proposal efforts, including collaborating with customers on programmatic and schedule matters. Finally, you will help to develop system and waveform test procedures, participate in the integration of software, digital, analog, programmable logic, and RF system components, and be involved in preparing presentations and reports for full system development (design reviews, test activities, manufacturing, qualifications, progress review, etc.)

• MSEE or closely related field, or equivalent combination of education/experience with an emphasis on Communication Theory and Signal Processing.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with Systems Engineering Lifecycle (e.g. requirements development, management, allocation, decomposition to software, hardware, programmable logic interfaces and verification/validation)
• Experience with Digital Signal Processing and communications systems and theory and RF waveform generation/reception
• Experience with JAMA
• Lab experience verifying RF, digital and analog requirements
• Demonstrated experience in driving complex issues or problems to successful closure
• Experience leading discussions and determining resolutions to problems
• Active Secret security clearance, or the ability to receive a high level clearance.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 10%

• Experience with Government systems and service acquisition
• Strong problem solving abilities
