About This Role

As an integral member of our Public Sector Sales team, the Public Sector Sales Associate is pivotal in supporting and expanding our sales initiatives within State, local, education, tribal, and utility sectors. This role offers a unique opportunity for hands-on experience and extensive knowledge in the public sector sales landscape. In collaboration with Public Sector Account Managers, the Public Sector Sales Associate will be involved in various aspects of account management, business acquisition and development, and customer relationship enhancement.

  • Generate new business in the public sector, targeting State, local, education, tribal, and utility accounts, both independently and in collaboration with Public Sector Account Managers.
  • Effectively communicate the UScellular business story to stimulate demand and solve public sector business challenges with our product portfolio.
  • Work closely with Public Sector Account Managers on sales strategies, customer presentations, and bid responses, providing necessary administrative and logistical support.
  • Utilize CRM tools for sales forecasting, pipeline tracking, account status reporting, and strategizing for account growth and revenue achievement.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders within targeted public sectors.
  • Create compelling proposals with clear value statements, deal economics, and customer benefits.
  • Lead and participate in contract negotiations and management, focusing on profitable sales and effective contract lifecycle management.
  • Use consultative selling approaches to articulate customer business value in proposals and presentations.
  • Actively engage in prospecting to identify and cultivate new business opportunities within the public sector, utilizing various strategies to expand our reach in State, local, education, tribal, and utility sectors.
  • Build a strong network within public sector communities to promote brand awareness and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Conduct research on public sector market trends, procurement processes, and competitive landscapes to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Navigate through Requests for Proposals, Group Purchasing Organizations/Consortiums, and other public sector buying mediums to effectively close deals and foster long-term partnerships.

#BusOrg Salary Range $41000 - $66834 / yearly #LI-RM1

Minimum Requirements
  • 1-3 years of successful sales experience, with a preference for public sector sales experience.
  • Proven ability to exceed sales targets and apply effective account management practices.
  • Professional demeanor, high integrity, and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Ability to operate independently to build a successful sales pipeline, while also collaborating effectively with colleagues and vendors .
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Capability to work in a dynamic environment, balancing diverse demands and priorities.
  • Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Experience concentrated in wireless, software, IOT or related telecommunications industry
