What you'll do

As a key member of the Supply Chain Process Transformation team, you will work closely with Procurement, Government Sub-Contracts, Compliance, Legal, and IT to develop and implement the process capability and technology roadmap to improve operational excellence, government compliance, and risk mitigation. A successful candidate will bring a wealth of business process and systems experience as well as strategic thought leadership, will quickly understand the specific business needs of Viasat, and will possess the influence needed to gain consensus and drive implementation, moving the business forward while positioning it to scale optimally with projected future growth. The day-to-day

  • Develop and own the process and technology capability roadmap for Government Procurement operations-spanning both Direct and Indirect Procurement and related Source-to-Pay functions.
  • Provide the vision and multi-year strategic plan for process capabilities and technologies, driving the right pace of transformation and responsive compliance in the near and longer term that is in line with stakeholder expectations and business evolution needs.
  • Effectively maintain the relationship with partners and end users, revolutionizing their world by delivering what is possible, not just what is requested.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and the competitive landscape relevant to Source-to-Pay capabilities and technologies to ensure Viasat's compliance processes are competitive, efficient, and aligned with the needs of the business.
  • Utilize data and industry standard methodologies to write business cases for process changes and new technology investments that ensure Viasat is meeting systematic compliance requirements in an automated way.
  • Support audit activities spanning DCMA (CPSR) and other governmental agencies.
  • Ensure Government supplier onboarding processes and related forms are compliant yet streamlined.
  • Lead the annual Government Supplier representations and certifications renewal campaign.
  • Foster a culture of agility that embraces minimum viable products (MVPs) and fast feedback/learning as part of process innovation and dynamic course setting.
  • Collaborate with a hardworking team of Process Engineers and Analysts, Business Systems Analysts, and Software Developers to achieve results.
  • Collaborate with teams internally and externally on standard methodologies, policies, and compliance.
  • Develop, refine, and advise on relevant metrics that demonstrate transformation progress, risk mitigation, and the associated impact to business performance.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, IT, or Business; or, comparable business experience in related fields
  • 5+ years of demonstrated ability in Operations, Procurement, or Supply Chain within a high-tech and/or US Defense Contracting environment
  • Extensive knowledge of operational functions such as Strategic Sourcing, Contract Management, Procurement, Receiving, Financial Accounting, Accounts Payable (AP), and Supplier Management.
  • Experience and understanding of US Defense Acquisition compliance requirements (FAR/DFAR)
  • Experience with regulated environments such as ITAR, FAA, etc.
  • Specialist in operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Skilled in Process Engineering, business process analysis and management
  • Knowledgeable on industry standard technology solutions such as cloud applications, AI, data quality
  • Ability to define and articulate business needs and functional requirements of solutions
  • Skilled in Project Management and team leadership
  • Experience with portfolio management and functional technology roadmaps
  • Skilled in articulating value and developing effective business cases
  • Adept at influencing cross functionally, developing consensus, and moving the business forward
  • Strong skills utilizing standard Microsoft tools such as Power Point, Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint, and Project
  • US citizenship required
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

  • Agile/Scrum/PMI Certifications
  • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms
  • Experience with DocuSign eSignature configurations and template management

Salary range

$97,000.00 - $168,600.00 / annually
