Job Title: Adjunct Faculty - Biological Sciences

Institution: Colorado School of Mines

Location: Golden, CO

Start Date: Fall 24 and Spring 25 Semesters, August 2024

Application Deadline: April 19th, 2024

Compensation: $8,000 - $10,000 per 3-credit course

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty positions to teach in the biological sciences for the fall 2024 and spring 2025 semesters. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in the biological sciences who are passionate about education and committed to providing students with an exceptional learning experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach one or more of the following courses: Introductory Biology I and II with lab, Genetics with lab, Immunology, Neuroscience, Quantitative Human Biology, Biological Psychology, and upper-division electives in the biological sciences to undergraduate and graduate students at the Colorado School of Mines

  • Prepare course materials, including lectures, assignments, exams, and lab activities, as required

  • Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to assist and mentor students

  • Assess and provide timely feedback on student performance, including grading assignments and exams

  • Collaborate with other faculty members to continuously improve course content and teaching methodologies

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in the Biological Sciences or a closely related field (preferred)

  • Prior teaching experience, especially at the college or university level (preferred)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse group of students and faculty

  • Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment
