What you'll do

Viasat is seeking its next stellar key player! The Director, Transformation Strategy & Operations will be a high-performing professional responsible for driving the development and execution of large cross-functional strategic and operational efficiency initiatives. This role serves as a key leader and partner to the Viasat Executive Leadership Team and other senior leaders across the organization to develop and drive transformation and cost optimization strategies. This role will report to the VP - Corp Dev & Strategy, Head of the Office of the President.


The day-to-day

  • Lead initiative-based business transformation and cost optimization, including leading, planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating cost and efficiency optimization opportunities across the organization.
  • Lead team to identify and implement improvements to support attainment of corporate operational efficiency and cost optimization goals using structured methodologies and project governance, liaising with key collaborators across the business.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, the role will lead analysis, governance, and resolution for significant organizational challenges, to ensure alignment with the company's core priorities and objectives.
  • Coordinating with other senior leaders on the improvement of the company's key business processes, operating model and governance structures to ensure the effectiveness of operations and cost optimization and efficiency improvement efforts across the enterprise.
  • Oversees the development of cross-functional projects/initiatives, including researching, benchmarking, analyzing data, making recommendations, and creating systems and processes to achieve cost and efficiency improvements across the organization.
  • Provide operating model improvement methodology expertise and coach/develop teams to form an operating model improvement center of excellence.
  • Facilitate the identification of operating model improvement opportunities across the enterprise and drive the associated improvement implementation to deliver to quality and cost optimization
  • Lead with strong governance principles and implement an appropriate framework to lead project planning, scheduling, controlling and reporting activities, as needed.
  • Ensure comprehensive project plans are prepared and maintained and issues are actively governed through to their successful resolution.
  • Deliver effective communication to all interested parties to support effective decision-making and manage the smooth and integrated delivery of projects; Ensure key collaborators are engaged in business improvement activities, including implementation and adoption.
  • Nurture project-related relationships ensuring that dependencies are identified and managed, and deliverables are achieved, as defined in the project plan and without incurring unnecessary cost or delay to the business improvement project.

What you'll need

  • 7+ years of experience in management consulting and/or corporate strategy
  • Experience in transformation and change management, with a track record of driving successful organizational change.
  • Experience in satellite or wireless communications industry operations, demonstrating a deep understanding of operational dynamics.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver large cross-functional programs with consensus and input from the cross-functional team(s).
  • High proficiency in the use of analytics and technology to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in leading diverse teams.

Salary range

$152,900.00 - $275,300.00 / annually

Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
