Job Description:

The Superintendent is a critical part of the project team estimating, developing, and executing the integrated project plan. The Superintendent is responsible for executing the plan to include directing, scheduling, coordinating the construction and maintenance of facilities and automation systems.

This position is located in Aurora, Colorado, requiring full-time presence at the local jobsite with no remote work option available.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Plan, organize, and direct daily and weekly activities.
  • Coordinate with M.C. Dean's subcontractors.
  • Direct, supervise, and monitor the daily progress of one or two technicians. Delegate the responsibilities to these technicians.
  • Daily and weekly, report out the work accomplished against the plan.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
  • Collaborate with the lead systems engineer, supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve work procedures, grievances, and construction problems.
  • Maintain an environment of ethical and motivated behavior.
  • Motivate and lead teams and team members.
  • Enhance the company's relationship with the owners by delivering a safe, quality project on time and within budget.
  • Develop the estimate and the integrated project plan with the project team.
  • Understand the contract, scope, specifications, drawings, and integrated project plan.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations and codes.
  • Produce quality and safe installations supported by our on-site safety representatives.
  • Work with the project team to maintain a positive cash flow and profitability.
  • Mentor technicians to prepare them for promotion.
  • Conduct performance appraisals with technicians.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • At least eight (8) years of experience working in the electrical industry, including two years serving as a foreman.
  • High School / GED with 10+ years of experience.
  • Advanced training in one career discipline or entry-level requirements in two.

Job Working Conditions and Environment:
The position is physically demanding and requires work outdoors in all weather conditions and environments to include heat, cold, rain, and snow. The position requires work at heights, in areas under construction, or restricted areas such as a switchgear room, manhole, utility tunnel, crawl spaces, or attics. The incumbent will work in areas accessible by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladders or stairs under construction. The position requires flexible work hours. To complete a project on time, the Superintendent may require overtime, weekends, and night shifts. The incumbent must work with customers and their representatives with little interference or disruption while maintaining a professional and courteous image.

Software Tools:

  • Estimating - Bluebeam
  • Scheduling - Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet
  • HMI/PLC Software - Ignition, EmersonPAC ME, or others

Abilities:

  • Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Troubleshooting new and existing industrial control systems
  • Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  • Have finger dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Identify and understand the speech of another person.

Certifications:

  • CPR/First Aid certification required within six (6) months of hire (provided by the company).
  • FPA 70E certification (provided by the company).

Pay Rate: $94,880 - $151,000
