IT Security Specialist IV
This position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered.
The Security Specialist IV role is vital in safeguarding our clients' data and systems. You will be a key player in maintaining a robust security posture and collaborating with technical teams to implement best practices. This position offers the opportunity to work independently while also contributing to strategic IT security initiatives.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for IT Security Specialist IV: $135,000 to $150,000.
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
IT Security Specialist IV Responsibilities Include:
* Create, update, and apply protocols to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in a variety of OS, containers, and microservices in a complex heterogeneous environment.
* Design and implement procedures for vulnerability scans and security configuration management.
* Respond to and document security incidents efficiently, ensuring swift resolution.
* Contribute to risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate security weaknesses.
* Implement cloud security best practices and secure cloud environments.
* Manage firewall requests, Let's Encrypt certificates and web traffic flow.
* Performs other job-related duties as assigned
IT Security Specialist IV Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
* Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Security Specialist in a complex, multi-system UNIX environment.
* Demonstrated experience with various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux distributions).
* In-depth understanding of IT security best practices.
* Proficiency with security scanning tools.
* Familiarity with relevant frameworks like NIST SP 800-53.
* Experience with security tools like BigFix, Tenable Security Center, and Web Application Firewalls.
* Strong understanding of networking principles and cloud-based security (AWS, GCP, Azure).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
